iaoSew is an independent design brand exploring how traditional Chinese textiles can become contemporary objects for everyday life. This website introduces our approach and early design direction.

This is currently a brand and design archive, with no online checkout. The numbered objects are concept studies, not items offered for sale. Availability and purchasing information will be published when pieces are released.

Textile pieces may differ in texture, tone and pattern placement. Any expected variations, dimensions and construction details will be described for each released piece, so you know what to expect.

Yarn, weave, finishing and use can affect the appearance of a textile. Differences can be part of a material’s character; the relevant details and any significant irregularities should always be explained with the individual piece.

Care depends on the fibres, dyes and construction of each object. Product-specific materials and care instructions will be provided with each released piece. Until then, please do not treat the concept images as a guide to washing or care.
